Yep, its quite a good site, going from strength to strength over the last few years.....amazing how quickly a news story gets reported to the site, sometimes the same day as the event actually took place....

We seem to pop up on there quite regularly, this month one of ours ('Phenix') is seen using her FiFi system after an 'incident' at the refinery.....(news story posted 7/5/11)

It seems that nowadays, there is always someone watching...

In a vaguely similar vein has anyone else tried the ship finder app for iPhone / iPad? I have the full version for iPad and it's pretty neat. AIS feeds nationwide, overlaid on googlemaps. I keep the iPad in an aqua pack on the rib - it's obviously not as good as radar but at least let's you point knowledgeably at ships and know where they came from/are going/speed/bearing/are called.

I've got the free shipfinder app on my phone, very impressive! And dead easy to use!

Sent from my iPhone using Rib.net

I would be lost without it...even though i seem to spend a third of each working day staring at a 19" monitor linked to a chart plotter showing all AIS targets in the Solent, the Iphone app has become a valuable tool which alows me to keep track of whats important even when im not around said previously mentioned monitor....
Well done to the man that designed it
