Identify this Hypalon handle and patch please..

We have a few handles on the tubes and have found them very useful to tie fenders onto and hold onto etc but we tend not to use them for tying the boat itself onto things, at least for any lengthy period of time or any time it is likely to have to take some strain.

So we anchored up and then because Trevor G couldn't be bothered to bring an anchor he tied alongside, nice and strong at the front, through the bow eye and also to the big cleat.

However we knew the boats would swing round during the night so to prevent them bashing too much we tied a fairly loose stern line between his a frame and our tube handle, not expecting it to take much strain. Long story short the handle has ripped.

I have found the handle here at Henshaw however, I cannot see a replacement Hypalon patch that goes around it. It is unfortunate that it has ripped slightly so that needs to be replaced too (See pics). Now I know our boat has some laser cut hypalon on it but I would be surprised if the patches were custom made for our boat?

Perhaps someone could shed some light on this and where to source a new patch.

Many thanks

So you reckon it is unique? Ok. Any suggestions where? I could do it myself but I don't have the pattern.

No GSCE in common sense.

Take the old one off with a heat gun and use it and the handle as a template, where it sticks to the handle will need to be sanded and primed as I'm guessing they are made of EPDM.

When I was at Eurocraft we had a tool made to cut out the hypalon surrounds. This is what we would have used when we tubed your boat for Roy.
Eurocraft are now at Manchester and should have the tool but as they are not focussing on Ribs I doubt that they will go looking for the too to cut one item for you and probably won't have the correct colour hypalon available.

Before we had the cutter made we used to cut them out by hand using a template we had made. I would do as already suggested and use the existing part as a pattern to produce a new piece.

I will have an offcut of material if you don't have any, PM me your address and I will pop it in the post to you.

I do remember a thread on here a while ago about tying up using tube cleats. Some of the big guns on here said it wasn't a problem

If you contact me tomorrow, I can supply the handle and make up up the patch for you as well. Just need to know the overall width and length so that the patch is cut to match your existing one
