Chris, the fuel prices in both islands went up this morning and are as follows:
Guernsey: Petrol 64p
Diesel 49p
Jersey: Petrol 65p
Diesel 55p
Don't be fooled, here is some food for thought!!
In Jersey:
Food costs twice the UK
The bare necessities in Jersey cost nearly twice as much as in the UK.
Over the past five years the cost of food has doubled but the good news is that prices have lowered over the last year.
However a pint of milk still costs 60% more, bread, tea and eggs have doubled and meat costs a sixth higher than the UK.
And to add fuel to the fire the cost of petrol has increased ten times faster.
Rent has also risen twice as fast over the last five years.
Chairman of the Consumer Council Deputy Alan Breckon says they are studying the figures carefully.
There you have it - its all relative really
