I feel depressed!

Just taken my boat upto its winter home and cleaned it down, flushed engine, greased trailer and put the whole lot to bed. Feels like its the winter now!!

Roll on the skiing season then its boating again but in the interim I feel sick..

You can get some nice days in the winter - and with a boat the size of yours you shouldn't have any problems - dig out the thermals!!!

hate to "rib" it in again but in Nice yesterday it was positively warm on the beach with still a few swimming; your boat would have been the star of the show for us lot having a cool beer on the prom;

get it down there next "winter"

My pal is a yacht captain in Cannes and is always saying the same thing to me. I love the idea but wonder in reality how much I would use it..

However will be there next July as we re in the planning stages of next years jaunt, the Tyne to Monaco, so a stop in Nice will be nice..

The advantage is that you can plan which weeks you want to go boating and be pretty much guaranteed good weather. It's also a good way to get around the south of France in the summer when the roads are gridlocked!

However will be there next July as we re in the planning stages of next years jaunt, the Tyne to Monaco, so a stop in Nice will be nice..

Got a resort near Flaine booked for March...............and keeping the Rib out all winter! Mad for it!

Why get depressed. See this as an opportunity to sort your boat out and do all those jobs you've been meaning to do for ages. I've been polishing and shining my RIB for the last week whilst I know I don't have to get it ready for sea too soon and I haven't written the winter off. I'll be out as soon as the winds die down. Also its time for my pocket to try and catch up with the fuel bills. A few weeks off should do me fine then hopefully it will be the cold crisp mornings with still water and its time for a different look at what the sea has to offer.

Off to Verbier too on the 10th Feb and trying to convince wife she needs to let me go again in March but not working too well!

Crew sounds good John, only rule is that crew must cover fuel bill!!!

I know that winter boating is OK but with the short days and where the boat is stored its pretty much out of the question for me....

well if you do decide to go in July I ll be pleased to show you around; my family normally spend all July there -I do 2 weeks and /or commute via Sleazy jet

On Sunday I fly to Gran Canaria to help provision Yacht Brigand for the X Atlantic which starts 26th

Hopefully decent weather there and in the Caribbean when we arrive

My skiing is pretty good, the only thing that I have ever been any good at in my life on a sporting level, but I tend now to take my apres pretty seriously.....
