Huge Waves

Eastern MA had a small craft advisory out yesterday, Im not sure if its illegal or just a suggestion not to go out but being a smart guy my friend and I strapped on our life jackets and went out in my 5.85 RIBcraft with the 115 Honda on the back. It performed flawlessly. Waves were 6-8ft, some breaking, but with a 8 second period i think so it wasnt THAT bad, still by far the worst condiitons ive been in. Rain was pounding our faces like hail. We had the VHF on and i heard one person say 1111 calling all mariners and coast guard, not sure what that means but then a longitude and latitude was yelled from someone else, I thought i should go find and try to help this person but i have no GPS.
Just wanted to say that RIBCRAFTs are real nice boats even with the heavy honda it kind of kept us in the water rather then flying out. No water from the ocean got in the boat either.
