I can't remember what make the steering kit was (a good couple of years ago now) but it was a bit average to be honest. It was supplied by the owner. The hose ends were plated, and raw brass. I'm sure it all looks like shite by now.

A shame.

Believe it or not they have found braided hoses sometimes don't last as long as normal ones - the braid can end up puncturing the inner core!!!

Yes a braided hose has it's advantages - better pressure as the hoses don't balloon and increased abrasion resistance but constant flexing can cause the braid to fail and puncture the inner.
