As Mollers says, great hull!
We are not going to get into a discussion about how Roy Bishop rigged the boats or who he used to fit engines as Roy has not been involved with Osprey for close to two years now and is clearly not here to defend himself.

Bold and sweeping statements from individuals who have had an experience with a single rib are commonplace here and this will not change.

Rest assured Osprey have been around longer than most and will continue to be here for a while yet. Our Ribs are well built and we stand by the quality of the workmanship across ALL areas of the boats we produce.

Good to see the forum Admin team looking after their trade members so well BTW

I've cruised alongside a few osprey viper max in rough weather. I personally think the hulls are very impressive.

Fit out is exactly that, you get as good as you pay for with experience being key.

Construction hull and tubes is better/superior on the Osprey
Sea Keeping would be between the Ribeye and the Osprey
225 is plenty of power to test yourself with on any of the ribs

re the fitout keep you foot on the neck of whoevers doing it and it should all go quite well

I've had my Vipermax 6 years, so I'll bear testament to the build quality of the Hull and Seat bases. I had tube issues but that was Eurocraft before the Management buyout. I've just found some resin from the fiberglass tank in my fuel line, but using a pre-filter right above the tank outlet should solve that problem.

Although my RIB is a 6.2m, I've been extremely happy with the performance. Fair enough I wish it could travel a little faster at WOT but I'm still happy with my choice 6 years on.

Incidentally I didn't have any problem with the fit-out....I did it myself

Are you insinuating you'd like posts edited or deleted if they don't show a trade member in a favourable light?
Has anyone heard from Channel Ribs lately?

I'm sure you really don't need us to defend you from something as high pitched and squeaky as a Gotchi attack.

And FWIW, I rather like Ospreys. I'd have one in a heartbeat.

Exactly ! I would hope the admin (especially the sage willk) would not base their opinions upon the sweeping statements of a teenager.

when we bought our brand new Revenger 715, with a brand new Honda 150 and new trailer, we entrusted the wiring to the dealer, what a shambles, they even cable tied the wiring for lights, antenna etc to the outside of the A frame as they were too lazy to do the job properly lesson learnt!!
I agree with Humber Paul, 1st time for everything cruised with a few vipermax, excellent ribs, well built an well put together

I'd love to know what you're all blaming me for now

I haven't made any sweeping statements or painted the current Osprey dealer in a negative light. If you reread my post it actually explains why I think our boat was not fitted out to the same standard as a factory boat. I have talked with the new Osprey dealer extensively about the various issues and I am confident new boats are fitted out to a much higher standard.

To most of us Osprey is Osprey, no matter when, where, who etc, hence the sweeping statement.

BTW the suggestion that somebody would fit out their own boat to a far lower standard than they would a customers boat doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Did you beat them down on the purchase price by any chance?
