How to stop weed etc growing on elephant's trunks

The lower half of my elephant's trunks are permanently under water at the pontoon. Any ideas how to stop weed and gunge growing on them. Presumably antifoul won't work, as its not flexible and will just crack and fall off?

This does read like a joke... I say I say I say, my elephant has a weedy trunk.

Seriously though. There is a flexible antifoul available for inflatable boats, this should work fine.

Fkexi antifoul would do or you could try putting wax on the trunks instead.
I use this on my tubes:
