How rough do you like it?

We've only had our Rib for a couple of weeks now, so obviously well keen on getting out on it. (Ribeye S650 6.5m)

We went out last Sunday afternoon, and was quite surprised not to see too many other people out on the water.

Wondered whether it had anything to do with the fact that it was as windy as anything, and quite choppy out in the Solent. We are quite used to big waves on our Jetskis (please don't spit at me!!!), but being new to the Rib scene, took it really easy as we are still getting used to the handling of the boat.

Just wondered how rough it needs to be to put most people off.

I was trying to hold on for the biggest waves, but did snatch a quick video as we were off Cowes:

Great video - isn't it amazing how the waves always look smaller on video or in photos?

You have inspired me now - for the first time ever I am uploading to youtube!!!

Not brilliant quality but not too bad - taken with a Pentax Optio - good job it's waterproof!!!

I enjoy going out in the rough, haven't used the SR4 yet but on the Atlantics the boat will easily handle more than I can.

It was built by a very dodgy bloke in Guernsey which is a shame because its a stunning boat and I love it.

The hull is basically a Revenger with more beam and a fuller bow section - tubes are by Paul Tilley and are excellent.

500L in undefloor tanks helps stability quite a bit!!!

The ride is so soft it's amazing - even getting plenty of air the landings are so smooth. Don't want twins on it to upset the balance so hopefully a Verado 350 before too long.

The conditions are conveyed better with a handheld camera as in your vid-or this one of mine-though.
It looks almost flat calm on A-frame moounted cams.

I did Guernsey to the Solent on Monday morning. It was pretty rough near Alderney and towards the Needles got quite exciting!! I took some footage from my cam on the A Frame, but as you say it appears a bit flat. We did manage an average of 31 knots though....
