Ask Ryan - he's owned plenty of both.
You'll have to be more specific though.
Length? Are we talking the ~5.4m or ~7.3m length? Outboard or inboard? On outboard, factory bracket, Armstrong, or Hermco?

they are about as good as you get here in the states.
The Zodiac 733 and Willard 730 are just about identical boats. Rumor has it they share the same hull molds in past distant history and even now may parts are a direct fit between brands. The guys that refurb them say there are some slight hull differences now and generally they prefer the Willards. There are several 7m owners on here and Ryan Pratt has rebuild many of them to absurdly perfect and amazing boats.

I would like to contact Ryan for some advice.
Sounds like he is the expert.
The main question is whether to buy used and take a chance on some very expensive breakdown or to pay more for a new boat. This is a business investment I am talking about.

Business venture? Depends what you're doing. For charters, some people have shied away from the non-common rail Cummins due to noise. But, 1100 lbs of Cummins low and forward in the hull makes for a phenomenal riding hull in almost any conditions. My old Willard had a better hole shot than my friends H733 OTH with a stern mounted Yanmar 316 - even trimmed down, he went bow up when trying to accelerate quickly. Not so with the Willard. The con - the Willard topped out at 30 knots and he topped out at 42 knots.
Price? Expect to pay 4x for new over used for a Zodiac or Willard 7m. If you have time could you repower and old hull for cheaper? Of course.

that's a decision over my pay grade although I think you can probably get a used one and re-build, re-power, and re-tube (if needed) for much less than a new one.

You drag racing? Might not be the best single performance criteria to judge these boats on. I have a single OB so can't tell you much about diesel hole shot.

If you're ordering new, his prices (including shipping) are much cheaper than a brand new Willard out of Anaheim, CA.
