Had Greyhound at over 43kts earlier in the year (Ribtec 585 with Yammie 115hp 2 Stroke Outboard on her). Mind you, I had absolutely no gear on board (2 fat gits though), and was pulling over the max RPM owing to the engine over fuelling. Get 38kts reliably.

Have posted this elsewhere on this forum. 8.5 Hull 275 Verado 2 up full tank 63 mph trimmed to the limit, but motor still had 500 rpm to go if I had the right prop, but tbh, I dont think it would go that much faster if I had the revs. Sea wasn't flat calm on the day either, mind you I lost two caps and me wig hehe

My last boat was an 8.1 Scorpion and with an Optimax 225 she recorded 54.6 knots on the GPS with two on board and 50 gallons of fuel.

Depends which prop I have on as to the speed I can get. Most of this season it has been rocking a 15 pitch as it's done a fair bit of skiing and wakeing etc and the pull from that prop is better for that but means it's a 36 knot max (which it can achieve loaded/unloaded it doesn't care). I also have a 19 pitch which with two people and lots of sailing kit has seen 45 knots without any problems.

I know the Optimax engined version in Portsmouth is carrying a 21 pitch and has been above 45 knots.

Mmm, I can only go with the amount I have put in, brim to brim !!

105 lts in 9 hours running, 11.66lts per hour!! maybe 1/3 at tickover, 2/3 at 3-4000 rpm, plus a couple of runs, just to see

speedwise, too busy looking where she going to watch the plotter, but just over 50knots (58mph) on the gps, full 160lts fuel, 4 up, and only at a tad over 5,000 revs,on the large four blade revolution prop ,so a few left to find maybe with the smaller 3 blade, will hit the revs ok, believe she was sea trailed at 69mph !!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeees Jeremy paxman stylie well mine was a snip at almost a third of that. Should say the prop is a Merc stainless Tempest II 21 " .. nice gear. Because of the Verado height you get a bit of slip to start with but when up , the thrust is relentless, even at 4k rpm , hit the gas and your off again woof !!

There may be a drawback to that though - the life expectancy of the highly tuned 444 engine was only 2 hours running time which could prove a tad expensive on a long term basis
