How fast?

Finally managed to get clocked this weekend!!

Apex A17(5.3m), Evinrude 4 stroke 70HP outboard, unknown prop, 2 adults, 15 gallons of fuel topped out at 38MPH. I was pleasantly surprised. I expected slower.

How fast are you guys? With what setup?

Brig F360HS... 3.6m (weight is around 160lbs), 75hp Johnson 2 stroke, 13,5" x 24" Raker prop. Getting 60mph on the speed gauge, I'll measure soon with an GPS unit.

Same boat reached 45 mph on the GPS with a 40hp ( ), difference with the video is that now there's a jockey seat, a lift for the engine and hydraulic steering / hotfoot in it.

Both speed mentioned above are with two adults and full tank, some bagage etc.

Maybe you can reach a few mph more with a 40hp if you use a stainless steel prop and lift up the engine a bit.

I'm really impressed by these results, never expected them from such a small rib.

Polaris 17.5, F115 Yamaha, near-full fuel (50 gal tank), just me and dive gear, will do about 39mph in flat water (which is rare here.)

That's a tad faster than my buddies in their Apex 19/Honda 115.
