How busy does Calder Get in portsmouth?

Hi As the title says. I have launched at Calder once this year on a cold windy day and it was empty.
But now we are in summer holls time, I was wondering if its worth launching there again .
Will I get the car and trailer Parked?

any ideas??

I think your asking about Camber slipway? If so someone will be along shortly or even ask Dry Run who operates at this location

Hi Jezza,

The Camber can get busy, but as the free trailer park has been extended this year (compared to last year) there is normally enough parking and trailer space. If you phone the Camber office beforehand on 023 9283 3166 I or one of the Dry Stack guys could tell you the current situation (especially with Cowes Week looming).

As posted here before, there are sometimes (but not that often) fishing boats laid up on the slip for repairs, but we normally try to ensure there is still enough room for the public to launch.

Hope that's of use.

PS barrier to slipway costs £2.50 (you have to lift it, dont' expect it to open automatically or you'll be very disappointed)!!

Car park costs are: -

• Minimum charge of 30 minutes 90p
• Up to 1 hour £1.60
• Up to 2 hours £2.60
• Up to 3 hours £3.50
• Up to 4 hours £4.50
• Up to 6 hours £6.20
• Up to 8 hours £8.50
• All day £10

I might be able to give RIBnet members a subsidised rate if they can find me (but don't tell anyone!). Of course if you're a Dry Stack customer or a local Resident, It's free anyway!

Jezza, find one of the guys in the Dry Stack (they'll have high viz jackets on) and tell them Steve said you could have a free parking voucher. They'll sort one out for you.

Thanks Steve.
Did get your message by TXT but Was having a nightmare as some Pikey in a van drove straight into my lights while they were on the floor so forgot to go ask.
He looked stoned so told him he was a idiot in a few more words and went off for a relaxing and bumpy spin round the coast.

Now I need to nurse my sun burn and knackered back!
