Mookster, the BF50 does propel it well and is good enough for towing rings etc, but to be honest for wakeboarding / waterski with a few adults I'd probably go for a Bf75 or similar. Not a necessity but the extra oomph can only help.

Thanks for getting back to me - I was trying to persuade myself it would do the job for us because of it's lightness but couldn't decide either way and was unable to take a test on the water - the RIB was brand new and the 50hp engine was a given. Whilst I was pondering a Walker Bay 4.3m came on the market that was just 2 years old with a 70 Yamaha with 40 hours on the clock - although smaller (as there are no tube overhangs at the back to speak of) the deck space is probably the same and fits what I want to do better. Thanks for getting back to me on this.
