Crew Wanted

My crewman for this event has just had to pull out, due to work commitments. Is there anyone who fancies a day out on the water I suspect it might be a long day, but worth it given the good cause.

Ian , happy to step forward if you want another pair of hands? Depending on what Steve is up to with his Parker?

Great Stuff - Can I appeal for any & everyone who reads this to maybe donate the equivalent of maybe an hours worth of whatever your boat uses in petrol in an hour to these guys and girls . I am sure there is a way to show it as 'belonging ' to this event- jus not sure how right now.

I honestly dont think there can be much better cause ......

I have offered the services of my Parker for this event. It is still uncertain as to whether I can get the time off to Skipper it myself.
Therefore if anyone of has experience of larger RIBs and who would like to help with this event, please PM me. Your chance to both help with a worthy cause and helm at great RIB, just make sure to look after it ......

Steve

Well my contribution is our Parker Rib to support the Round the Island Windsurfing event, that is now taking place tomorrow. Starting at 0830, it means a 0600 departure from Poole with me and PeteM and picking up Andre from Calshott. Then on to UKSA for final safety brief.

A long day but then rewarding. Thanks to Andre for "sponsoring" the fuel and Pete for giving up a day to crew.

If anyone is out, stop by and say hello

Steve

Well we/they did it!
We had the pleasure of escourting the Navy duo, a very determined pair who pressed on with minimal breaks. They led the field for over 2/3rds of the course, only to be overtaken by the Army passing Ryde.
Many thanks to Pete & Andre for their help and company and making a long day a bit of fun.
The course notes gave the distance as 73miles, I calculate we did over 110miles and used 208ltrs of fuel, which Parker boats have donated.

Steve

most impressed with the guys that completed it. the wind was very marginal for the upwind legs.
I hate to think about the distance they did tacking, none of the chase boats followed them to the "corners" so would have a short reading.

I clocked 110 miles, and i didn't even go all the way round, (i was solent restricted being only 5.1m )

Was a long day but i hope lots of monies are raised, go on if you've not, get your cash out
