The boxes always come up on ebay, normally in pairs.

Barnet Marine sell the baskets, also on ebay, but they're a hell of a price.

Yea I have the boxes and have been looking for ages for the brackets and can agree the prices seem a little excessive £120. They dont seem to be a lot to them but I am no engineer so I could be way out!!

I am sure there will always be somebody that will be able to make them a lot cheaper local.
Try a small metal fabrications company if they can't I am sure there be able to point somebody in the right direction.

As for containers maybe something else waterproof can be used.

The bloke in Cushendal who does Redbay's steel makes fantastic looking flare box holders. They are a joy to behold, perfectly square and mirror finished, I collected a pair for a friend last year. As I recall they were something like £75 a side - but there's a lot of stainless in them and they have to be slow to finish to that standard (the welds are basically invisible due to the finish). He makes a neat flared rod holder too - very tasty

No help to Biffer I realise but hey, you never know who needs one!
