Cobra Ribs web site is back up and running, and under News they state they've moved to new premises on the South Coast.

Yes you did use the word rumour but then gold plated it with a few unfounded allegations of your own not all of which are accurate. Regardless of whether a new company is set up the employees' entitlement to redundancy payments are protected under TUPE regulations.

Weren't Cobra Ribs built in Southampton, before Dave Picton got involved?

I don't think that is the point. What you have alleged is that the directors of Picton Boats Ltd deliberately placed the company in receivership (or similar) in order to obtain a financial advantage for themselves. Also that they did this with no concern for their employees and in particular arranged matters in such a way as to deprive them of their redundancy pay.

Now you might say you were only repeating what you heard and it may not be true. If you don't believe it is true, why say it? If you do believe it is true, where is the evidence.

By the way, have the police questioned you about a case of indecent exposure in Swansea?

You need to read things more carefully. I was merely asking you a question. If I were a newspaper reporter my next day headline could now be:

"Codprawn denies involvement in indecency probe."

All stictly accurate!

Reading that again I suppose you are going to say that you didn't deny it! So, even better really:

"Codprawn does not deny involvement in indecency probe!"

Not sure about Southampton, but yes somewhere down here. They went bust in 91/92; Sue Callow was MD with her dad. Built quite a good boat for the dive market at the time, but to create a market name had to sell them cheap so didn't make sufficient profit to keep the business going, service loans etc in the last recession.

Pete fist cobra built by solent marine centre (port solent) ,sue feltham designed by her father 17/12/91 went bankrupt 1992 as you say due to selling too cheaply. then dave picton took over until he sold to present owners .as a point of interest i think codders was right to say about the rumour it may have saved someone from loosing their deposit and he did state that it was only a rumour

How can that be? Read it again. In order to save anybody's deposit the post would have had to be an advance warning of the company going bust. Instead it was speculation about the motives behind something that had already happened and about which nothing could be done. If it turns out to be false it is probably going to hinder any efforts to revive the business. If it is later proved to be true, we can then make informed comments.

Love him, or hate him,in my opinion these forums need Codsrawns type, if only to encourage debate. Sure he jumps in a bit too quick sometimes, and is often wrong, but at least his postings help keep this forum alive.

Agreed, the forum would be a poorer place without some characters and we had our fair share on here,

Crazyhorse, Manos, Flanker, Richard B and you couldn't forget the boatmad crowd

I've never found what happened to Crazyhorse and his ally rib build. Was he real? Was it real? Does he still lurk? Is he dead? Was there something about him moving to Canada? Can anyone enlighten me?

Pete, is that avatar a Tohatsu? Is it yours?

April Lass isn't a tohatsu, no. He's defected and reverted to his rag and stick roots!

I occasionally speak to him on the phone, and have no reason to doubt him.
