halmatic jet

I have a halmatic pacific with mermaid 150hp and pp jet. Engine is out for rebuild at the moment and I am looking at jet unit. It appears to have had a belt driven pump at one time driven off drive shaft but is missing. also has a tell tale and lever valve. Looks like it may have had a water cooled bearing .anyone shed some light on this please

Hydraulic pump can run off belt to actuate hydraulics for steering & or reverse / neutral bucket

Interesting boat - the Mermaid engine would suggest a Mk 1 Pac 22 but the jet points to a Mk 2.

As beamishken says, on the Mk 2's, a belt driven pump was used to operate the reverse bucket.

Interesting boat alright. looks like an original jet installation. deck is off and hull looks consistant with no change of materials or colours .the pump looks like it could have been used to run the jet drive while out of the water as in keep the bearing cool.

Perhaps one of the development hulls Halmatic used to test new models. I visited once when they were in Portchester to get a quote for a repair to mine. Told not to bring any cameras and not to look at the carpark full of odd hulls. All secret stuff
