I sort of was thinking along those lines but am now convinced its not a practical option for the event in question so will rethink !

just a thought, if the boat is registered in the channel islands does it fall under the mca rules for charter

AFAIK it falls under the same regulations regarding coding, and I think would be certified by the lcoal harbour office and require a skipper with commercial endorsement. I imagine that is all the same as mca.
