I have two balls...

...one on either side. The small one is never greased, but occassionally, the larger one gets a little gooped up. The load is generally larger on the big ball, so that's my logic. It does attract stuff, but since I generally whack my leg on the Mother at least once a month, the grease helps to stem the flow of blood... although I am no doubt slowly but surely contracting some petroleum-based shin cancer...
