I wouldn't recommend tiller steering on a SR4 - a bit too twitchy with the deep V hull. I think Avon recommend 25hp max for a SR4 on tiller, for this reason.

Out of interest would a 50hp 4 stroke be a bit heavy?

It only took me a week and half of that was running around collecting stuff and waitng for postal deliveries

Make sure you buy 3 times as much sikaflex as you think you need and use it on ANYTHING that goes into the skin-specially the engine bolts!

Biggles had one with a 50hp 4 stroke (he's disappeared from ribnet) and he said it was a bit too heavy-but he did go round the IOW with it so can't be that bad!

The RIBInternashinul nobbers reputedly ran one around Scotland recently (SR4/Yam 50 4-stroke) and in testing they reported it to be too heavy at the stern. Don't know if they made it around - there were months of build up for the 'Round Scotland Challenge' , but it all went quiet once the event was about to take place - don't think they attracted many 'entries'.

Well done, looking forward to the build thread now

So, the big question:-
Will you keep the flooding hull?
Or bung it up?

Nasher.
