glove box

Morning,

does anyone have a "glove Box" on their boats?

i remember seeing on the Banana Shark boats that they had a clever little box with sealed lid (i think the ipod connection went in there as well)

how is this done?

Thanks
Zippy

You could use a plastic 11" x 9" hatch with a box fixed to the back or alternatively use a plain hatch and form a box behind it, using GRP and/or plywood - that way gives you more flexibility as to hatch and compartment size.
On my current boat, I used a Nuova Rade 'VHF Radio Hatch', which is quite neat and available in a lockable version.

lockable sounds good.

on ours, the carbon effect dash is being replaced so looking to try and fix the "box" flush behind he dash so its just a recess to put small items like phones, wallets and car keys.

dont suppose you have any pictures do you??

Thanks

One like this can used to be available from Portsolent marine superstore. Be warned however, the latches are pretty crap and didn't even last the PDI of the engine Buying a simple chromed one replaced it OK and looks much better too. This is shown in the picture.
