Gecko Marine Safety helmets

Over recent months many on the forum have shown a great interest in GECKO Helmets resulting in some purchases. GECKO have recently logged into this forum and are aware I am asking this question.

If their helmets were available to see/try/buy (even on a rib) on the South coast is this something that forum and rib users would welcome and use?

I have been aware that some prospective buyers would like to see and try before purchasing a great bit of kit which I use a lot. Depending on the feedback and another option the office at Gecko may post shortly we can judge what may be possible

Are South coast ribber's softer than the rest of the country, or do they just like dressing up in funny kit more?

I assume that Gecko either do, or would be welcome to, exhibit at SeaWork and / or whatever RIBex is now to be called.

Given their relative popularity on here I wouldn't have thought it would be that hard for a ribnetter to find one reasonably local to try on.

Well, speaking as a Southern Softie, I think it is a good idea. If I could have tried before buying I might have decided that my head is just too big
Its OK for shortish passages, but for anything else it is a pain in the .........forehead

I wear mine pretty much the whole time. With the di-cut it is an essential

Choosing the right visor was also a little difficult without having seen more than just a single version so perhaps stocking a range of visors would be good if the idea went ahead. They are truly excellent though, an absolute godsend in the rain or at any stage that swimming trunks and t-shirt alone are not enough!

One tip though - keep them away from any petrol
