I've been a big fan of SJX for quite a while. They do a bigger model than this one that has two Mercury jets. Love their videos as well; unashamedly american.

Remove the roof from a 1993 Elddis Typhoon, flip it upside down and fit the front window from a military Hummer. Next turn it into a jet ski and presto...you have an SJX.

Not the most esthetically pleasing of boats (IMHO) but do look like a whole load a fun though.

These boats are clearly well built and as I said they now do a 28ft model. However, I wonder how seaworthy they would be?

All we need now is an aluminum fabricator that could build the design (without the bow rider scoop) for the British market.

I suspect they would be a (very) hard ride in open water by the look of the hull!

Been jetboating in NZ up rivers and it's a lot of fun!

But it looks like great fun and certainly demonstrates these boats don't lack for quality in construction or components. I cringed at the lack of lifejackets, kill cords or padding on that Hummer windshield but it made me laugh in places and you gotta love the casual running over a floating log.

However, from experience of landing even deep V hulls off waves just slightly rolled off horizontal I'd expect these near flat bottomed brutes to spit bodies a long way if they landed any way from flat off even moderate chop!

But then that could be part of the fun

About as soft as any dory but the big sccop bow would shorten the pain. I'd a mate worked for Shotover Jet in NZ - nice work if you can get it. Looks properly scary in their videos. See one of their boats on test here and listen to the sound-
