Fuel storage cans....

I'm looking for some cans (preferably plastic) to carry some fuel for that extra range on the RIB.

I thought it would be relatively simple, find a can on tinternet and buy it, wrong! I bought one I could stick my finger through, another I could hardly get the pump nozzle in and it took an age to empty so I'm not buying any more without recommendation.

So... What d'ya use?

One of these on the old old one - Quicksilver 25 litre outboard fuel tank - Mercury - Mariner | eBay

And one that I can't find a link to on the present one.

Any tank that fits your storage location will be fine. If you're on inboard tank don't try and fill it, just connect the small tank to the filter or engine and off you go

the independent landrover spares man we have used for years has just started to stock the same green 20l plastic jerry can I've used for 3 seasons, good kit, he does mail order, worth a call

I've got some of these not cheap but they are the dogs danglies. I have the petrol ones which I imported. The only difference between the diesel & petrol version is the colour of the tag on the neckband.

These plastic jerry cans are well worth the money I have 2 of them & need another 2 for this season you can buy the fast flow nozzle to go with them it's a great bit of kit

I use these same as dead easy to fuel up at sea with nozzle very robust and comes in a rainbow of colours

And strap down with these gadgets

Its yours foc if you want. I will be in Oban at Easter if you can collect from there. Otherwise, if you need it urgently, again foc if you can arrange collection

Keep it simple - buy what ever tank you want and get one of these - Laser Jiggle Siphon Hose 1.75m | Fluid Extraction | Screwfix.com

Easy to use and avoids having to struggle holding tanks up whilst filling and surprisingly easy to control!!!

Yep used nod for years can't beat it but make sure you get large bore as it cuts down refuelling time

I've got one of them things and I'm buggered if I can get it to work properly, its as if the spring in too strong.

Never had a problem with ours. It works so easily its a dream compared to holding a tank over a filler valve whilst it empties!

Never had a problem. Make sure jerry above level, try to make tube as straight as poss and seat the nozzle well down the jerry and use short sharp strokes. Works every time. Sent from my iPhone using Rib.net

I've watched the videos on YouTube but still cant get it to work.

I suspect it may be a duffer.
