Incidentally, when I am instructing I always suggest that the Vessel Call Sign and MMSI number are kept on laminates adjacent to the set, perhaps on the Emergency Procedures card. Being geriatric, I have problems remembering my boats name, never mind the call sign or MMSI!

Response received from RYA, usual pleasantries and thanks etc.

"Being drawn to the attention of our Radio Advisor".

So it sounds like it has ended up in the correct part of the RYA

the only time most boaters call is when the have a problem & they .,i., blurt out may day .panpan ect & hope to get help . lets not be to clever with systems ect
