Foot pump hose

Can anyone save me some time please ?

Am fed up with having to replace the crappy yellow ribbed hose you get with the footpumps for the sponsons....they are always tearing /splitting on my pumps!

Is there another hose (from a different source /different use) with correct dia? What do you use please....

Dan

I replaced mine with Clear/Braided water hose.
Not sure of the size, but it came from the chandlers.

It's a bit stiff when cold(I should be so lucky) but is tough as old boots.

Nasher.

When I rigged up the Bravo-12BST in the console, I used a length of vinyl garden hose. Cheap, easy to replace, and generates sufficiently odd looks when deployed at the ramp.

I used a size a bit small, and used a heat gun to soften it enough to get it over the nozzles.

Cheers both.....

what i have drawn from Nashers "It's a bit stiff when cold.....but is tough as old boots" and Jayasaki's "Generates sufficiently odd looks when deployed at the ramp......a bit small....used a heat gun to soften it enough to get it over the nozzles....."

is:

a) Water hose is the answer
b) Finbarr Saunders would have had a field day on this topic

I use the same as Nasher the clear stuff, mine was for use as bilge pump outlet hose
As smooth bore it may pump up a bit quicker too,
for softning to go over the ends i just stick it under the boiling tap for a few moments or over the gas cooker .
its suprizing with the cheaper convlouted hose how mays pin prick holes build up over time all goes towards more pumping .
