Flighty overpowered...

Having seen a 150hp on a 5.4m Searider, I have no doubt that they could take a 115.. however, I have driven many 90hp versions with decent props and have occaisionally hit 45 knots on flat calm days whilst trying not to get thrown out the boat from Chine walking...

Has anyone else used a bigger engine and what are they like? I used to have a 60hp on a 4m and that was bad enough.. however I it was an old early 90's engine.. not a modern lightweight..

Well.... it's within the max weight for a 5.4 and it's only going to be as fast as you open the throttle?

Not sure I like that console fitment though. Looks rough.

Plus there is also ambiguity as to whether an insurance claim would pay out if it's being run out of spec!

"Chine walking..." this is mostly from the driver, more skill means less chine walk.
unless the power is to heavy for the hull, once setup right it would be fine.
bein Overpowered is a state of mind, it only goes as fast as you try to go.
