Fleet Review, Trafalgar 200

Eventually got through to Magellan Flags in Scotland to order my pennant today, so have committed to trail down from Somerset to the Solent on the 28th June for the Fleet Review and evening delights. Although I have the RN pamphlet detailing the restricted areas, does anyone 'in the know' have any idea where the aircraft flying display line is? I would like to anchor in a good position.

A RIBnet mass Rv somewhere on the day might be fun. GPS co-ordinates anyone?!

Any tips for a suitable launch site for a night recovery? I'd burn up round the coast from the south west, but avoiding the lobster pots at night would be an issue even if cold/tired kids are not!

All the best

Alistair

I'm planning the same; coming down from Norwich. I've hired a house in Milford on Sea; did this last summer a couple of times and explorered various slipways etc. I found Lymington to be the best (although I didn't think to buy two parking tickets; one for the car and one for the trailer so consiqently got a parking fine grrrr)

Have you read all the PDFs about the event? Much info in there. I would have said where ever you are anchored on their map you should have an exellent view of the fly past....

I will already be on the water. My strong suggestion is to get in the water on the Monday and book overnight at visitors berth at eg Berthon NOW. We will be leaving the river very early!

Do you need help on accomodation? How many are you?

PM me

Bruce

I have got to work on the Tuesday 28th - is there anything to see the weekend before or the weekend after?

Is it worth nipping down pompey way on the Sunday before - is it all in the harbour or outside it?

I would guess so, certainly after 8am. Everyone and his dog will decide at the last minute if the weather is good to get in the water. The review starts 11ish.

I've taken your advice; just booked a berth at Lymington Yacht Haven - £17.20.

Sorted
