Flares on Ribs?

Always carry flares. They are life savers. Without a doubt. If you are in doubt of how to use go to your local lifeboat station they will be able to help or put you in contact with the sea safety officer. I speak from experience , that orange smoke can be seen and will bring help to you.

As UK Greatland Importer , I tell folk that LED Strobes & Laser Flares are good for guiding rescuers to you position after you alert by other means - VHF , PLB or dare I say mobile phone.

Greatland Rescue Laser & Lights have the advantage of long range - most LEDstrobes / lifejacket lights have range 3nm

even the £12 Guardian LED light has range of 5km.

great video I bought full copy I also sent sights to the coastguard to upgrade her personal Greatland Rescue Laser - I only found out after brother told me - he's mad kayaker !

I personally have 2 backup torch for diving. Yezl which has magnetic ring to turn on light or STROBE (MOB I suppose) and XTAR D26.

They are not floating, they do not turn on automatically when wet.
They are very useful and can be use as distress signal I suppose.

But some lightweight, floating small equipment mount to life-jacket D-ring via short spiral line can be very useful also.

On mentioned above video there are 2 pins for recharge battery I suppose.
Are they proof against salt water ?
