Flare box Holders - Again.

Somebody has asked me to knock up some flare box holders for them, which I'm hoping to get done in the next couple of weeks.

As I've access to the boat it's not an issue to make up some bespoke clamps to fit on the A frame, however as I might make up a couple of sets at the same time I'm interested in any images people have of how theirs are fitted to their A Frame. I want to come up with a generic clamp design that will fit a multitude of different size and shape A frames yet still meet my standards for fit and function.

Anyone care to share any images?

Thanks.

Nasher.

I've not worked it out yet.

The first set are a favour for somebody, so no money is changing hands, but it will give me an idea of the material costs etc. Actually making them won't take long.

if you are contemplating making another set, I would be interested.

I had seen some stainless steel clamps / U bolts on flea bay that would probaby do the clamping...
Item number: 350188326634

or

Item number: 140392444017

they might work.

I'll bear you in mind if I make another set

I thought about U Bolts, but I want them to be flush up aginst the A frame tubes, with U Bolts I'd need to space them off to make room for the threads and nuts etc.

The first set I'm going to weld studs to the back of, and make some U clamps for, but they will be bespoke to that A frame.

Going to think about it a bit more this weekend.

Thanks Kerny

I've already designed the actual holder, they will be quite different to yours.

As mentioned It's the method of attaching to the A frame I'm still considering, yours look like they just bolt to the flat plates on the A Frame, where as I'm looking to clamp onto the tubes in such a way that they can be universal to fit lots of different styles of A frame.

Kenny

I have poly box holders on my A Frame. The cage reaches as far as the shoulder of the bottle. In rought water travelling too fast The bottle managed to jump/bounce out of the cage only to be lost for ever. The experance left me out of pocket as I lost, wedding ring, car keys, hand held GPs , flares, hand held compass. and those are only the Items I can remember
