BTW don't be shy about calling your instructor and getting some free post course advice, he should be dedicated to ensuring your boating is safe and the slipway is paramount to that
Yeah, would do but haven't got his number as booked through a company and then just met him there, sure i could hold of it though. What did you buy?

Might be time to chop the Saab in then for a 4x4 but need something that the clients would like and as economic as the 9-3, hmmm? Unlike Sarah I cant quite afford both at the mo : )
we have only tried with the saab once and that was down at ichenor which is stones and steepish at the bottom and our boat and trailer is probably quite heavy.

in a word it was crap, it struggled with just the trailer to get grip. but we will try again on other slips like camber dock

the beemer has pulled out of there a good few times and only got stuck once when i was on the far side where it is muddy and green

the beemer is auto, traction control and auto. the saab is front wheel drive and manual.

even a volvo estate could not pull the boat out at ichenor when we swapped over to try. so thats why i invested in some ropes

if you have a selection of ropes then you should be fine i would say. but best thing to do is give it a go as your saab may have better grip than ours and your boat is lighter.

with our landies and shoguns we have never had an issue, i always think auto is far better for pulling up slips.

I shall have to remember that quote when my Frontera eventually rusts to bits.

Or maybe its something I could say I've done to one of my work vehicles when its knackered.

Is this easy to launch as it almost looks dis-used! Think i'm going to go out this evening as weather looks like it might hold off.

hi gavin

hasler can get very busy. you need to go down at low tide and have a look

as there's mud on both side's and rocks so stay in the middle. on tuesday

there was some muck near the top of the ramp so go steady or use a rope if

you havent got 4x4. i would come down and help but working tonight

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking of going out tonight, sure the weather will be fine. Shame you're working would be good to meet up. I was thinking I might have a look at The Lower Quay, Fareham Slip - looks ok?
