First RIB set up

Just bought my first RIB. Quicksilver Ocean Runner 410 and now I need to work out the engine. Its a weekend fun boat and I want to be able to tow the kids on a tube, knee board and possibly a wakeboard but that might be a stretch.

So Im thinking a Mercury 2 Stroke 30hp or 40hp. The shop I'm buying it from feels the 30 is the best match and quicksilver have now downgrounded the compliance plate from 40 to 30hp.. maybe they felt the 40 was too much for it..

Any guidance would greatly appreciated

If the max HP rating of the boat is 30 then go with that. Don't exceed it as that will probably invalidate any insurance. I learnt to wakeboard behind a small rib with 25hp on the back and two people on board. It was a struggle to get up but it worked!
