JK thanks for sticking it together as one piece and for including it on RIBnet.

(Could the title revert to Solent Cruising Part 1? As Part 11 (started ) will be about favourite Solent Destinations.Thank you sir!)

Well done Kathleen. Excellent article, and I feel the added touch of class was the inclusion of a pic of a Northern Ribnet member on the March Solent spin

You peeps certainly added class to a very enjoyable day out

Appreciate the positive feedback Martin (and on Ribsters also where peeps made helpful suggestions).

Hoping it will be a resource for peeps visiting the Solent whenever.

It was beautiful out there tonight. The Spinnaker Tower (Portsmouth) has multicoloured lighting now and looks quite magical

Nice guide (even if it is the wrong side of the Atlantic, even after traversing the US.)

Would be even better with a chart of the area.

Thanks for reading the article and for your feedback jky !

I really did want to start with a chart but decided against it because I didn't want to include anything I didn't have permission to use in that 'formal' format. (Solicitors are being mentioned a lot on RN these days )

If you have a google though, there are lots of examples on www.

Fair enough.

Perhaps a link to a chart or two, then? (Granted, I realize that anyone interested in boating the area should have their own charts, but still...)

Hi jky

This site also has a basic guide to the area.

www.solentforum.hants.org.uk

You might find the section on 'Maps and Images' helpful when planning a trip
(bit of a trek for you but if you're on the way over, give us a shout !).

I'll have a look for others but if you want a proper chart there are lots of sites selling them. Go on go on. 'Twould be a nice souvenir . Tastefully framed & displayed on the wall it would become a talking point

Thanks Kev you're a gent. Yes I have to work hard at everything (particularly mooring ) being a bear of little brain but hopefully I'll improve my own navigation at the same time as studying our patch.

Ah shure you'd never know. Any long voyages coming up? I could have a go at writing them up for you.
