Too expensive by time you get them here unfortunately, but good for your side of the pond perhaps.

I did look for similar here few months ago but no joy.

JK used to import them but I don’t think there were as many people who wanted to look that weird as he has anticipated!

Go back a few years and everyone loved to show off the paintball style mask that they used.

The neoprene cycle masks are good for keeping the mouth and nose area wind free.

Might be okay state-side, but the fishermen at Stonehaven harbour would probably shake their heads if I came in with one of these on!

I'll bet they would. I used my hooded dive parka (Surf Fur) to cover my head when I wear the mask, for protection and the crazy looks at the dock. LoL

I use cheap XLoop Oakley copies both when I'm on the motorbike and in the RIB.
Admittedly at SEVERELY illegal speeds there's a bit of eye watering on the bike, but at sub 90mph with an open Face without a visor they work perfectly. On the boat with no helmet and a floating strap I've never had any issues at all.
They're about £11 a pair on eBay a polarised pair so I don't get too annoyed if they get broken.

I had one from JK back in the day.....
but then again I never have worried about the of "plebeian" opinion....."Handsome is as Handsome does"
Worked well for wind and helped keep face warmer...did fog up a bit in the colder weather, and a bit difficult to keep in place at times.
None of the thermal...comfort ...or protection qualitys of a Ghecko..which is where Goggles fall down for winter use and really wet conditions...Had them too.
How many (Any!?) on here who swapped Gheckos (once you've tried em) in for Sunnys or Goggles for extreme weather let alone Winter ....extreme Ribbing??
For the uninitiated...just Try someone else's....IF that is...you can pry em out of their... possibly cold wet fingers when conditions dictate

Waterproof balaclava, 15 quid face shield....job done. Oh, and no bucket effect (plus they fit in a ribcraft seat)

Look slightly less of a plum for less money, what isn't to like!?!

I'm sure geckos are good but not for everyone.

Eye protection

As promised the RNLI's reply, and very helpful it is too:

Dear Mr Elliott,

Thanks you for your recent enquiry regarding Gecko helmets.

You are correct, these helmets are part of our PPE.

For information on the exact structure/limitations and suitability for specific leisure activities the best route would be to contact the manufacturer.

Kind regards

Kate
