493 or whatever, was the total price I paid for 4 upholstered winged side supports. I had them fitted when I bought the boat new, so not sure what holes they fit into, but I haven't noticed any "spare" holes on the backrest frames, so I'm guessing that they fit into the holes for a standard backrest.

Right, so you are saying that RIBcraft have supplied you with 4 wings that bolt/fix to 2 existing jockey back rests.

Yes?

Hi NautiAndNice

For the Ribcraft, is that not the upgrade price from the normal backrests if you bought new? Cos the normal backrests would have been included. At that price I think it's too good to be true if it's the total price rather than upgrade.

Hi Neil,

Like I said earlier, these are "wings" that attach to the standard backrests.

Backrest pices

Hi
The 125 Ex VAT is the upgrade price when you order the seats with your boat and they do include the upholstery!
They are a must when the kids are on-board! N & N are you planning yours soon!
it must be the air on the Island Of The Wight...
Dor
P.S. The costs of stainless has rocketed over the last 18% we are told the Chinese are buying it all up for pots and pans !!

I don't think these are a fashion accessory, but provide more security, particularly in the rough stuff, at speed and with the kids on board .

I recently drove another Rib on a course without them and felt very insecure by comparison.

I also had mine done during the build, cost an extra 493+vat for all 4 wings.

This was in addition to the 790 + vat I paid for 2 jockey seats (the first 2 came as part of the boat price).

However, the are welded to the frame of the backrest, not bolted on. This clearly makes them v. secure, but I am not sure how a retro fit would be done (perhaps they would supply a new backrest with the wings); suggest contact Ribcraft.

wings

Sorry N&N !
The winged backrests are welded on during manufacture of the backrest itself.
It would be lovely if they could bolt on as most people want to add the after the boat is finished!
Once you have gone out in big stuff with wings you will never go back
