Excel parking - any advice?

I'm going by car on Thursday and Friday. As far as I know the Excel carparks are limited stay - 4 hours max. It looks like I will have to use the park and ride. Any advice from those of you who have been there already would be gratefully appreciated.

Mike

Hi Michael,

Go to the 1st park and ride car park. Cost is £5.00/day and there is a bus service every 2-3 minutes there and back. We parked there without any problem.

Car Park @ Excel LBS

If early enough, we arrived Saturday @09:30 there is a car park at the East entrance to Excel at £8/day.
We didn't see this until arriving on the Park & Ride bus Manos noted. So not sure if it's invited parking or for public use. Worth a try, or save £3 and use the P&R which is a great service.

Enjoy the show, it's a good one.

I believe only a part of it is allocated for exhibitors, VIPs etc.

Of course, you could park for free in said carpark - but you'll have to stump up to stay at the Sunborn Yacht Hotel. Highly recommended - stumble out of bed and it's a 1 minute walk to the show. Hotel guests get free parking!

I parked in the hotel car park just to the East of Excel... about a two minute walk. They charged £5!

I dont think thats the case - rather the cost is £2 per hour upto £8 hours OR the whole day. So the max you would pay is £8. The wording is slightly ambigious but I believe this is correct - some conversation on the www.ybw.com forums about it.

I'm driving and parking at Excel on Sat.

Cheers,
Alan
