eny idia what fuel this would use will it be good or bad and could enyone tell me what sought of weight a osprey with this outboard on with twin axle trailer 7mtr osprey

Weight would be circa 2000KGs for the boat and trailer combined...

The Etec 250 will probably burn about a litre per mile at 30 knot crushing speed and 70 -80 litres per Hour at full throttle. A great engine and a great match for the Vipermax...

Mine burns 28-32 litres a hour @ 20-22mph 4 up on my Ballistic 7.8.
Great engine love it.

I reckon 2000kg is a little generous. Ours came in at 1800 with a single axle, though it was a heavy trailer plated at 550kg (not sure I believe that though..).

Definitely go for the normal 250 and not the 250HO btw, it is a much better match for a RIB.

Could you give us a bit more info on the test please Dave? The figures look odd. Max RPM for that engine is 5800 & I'm not sure what "Speed -1000 RPM 33.8" Means

the speed - 1000 relates to top revs - 1000 revs the rest was a cut and paste job.
