EUPA - Happy christmas EVERYBODY

One of the most fantastic experiences of my life this year was to find Rib.Net- John Kennet permitting. Its really fun to talk to all - and I realize that there are more people madder than me ( did'nt think that possible!!!) - Mind you ,I think that whats life is all about and to have a rib, well its a step towards insanity. Anyway - I would like to wish you all a happy christmas and look
forward to 2005.

You might be interested in the EUPA boat yard- I am refurbishing the "INDEPENDENT" and am aiming to restart our service Calais/Dover - as yesterday I waited at Dover for over 5 hours to catch a bloody boat- ( tunnel was 6 hours) - and that is just not good enough

Thanks Jackeens and Wayne- its very simple:

left neighbour - one packet of Marks & Spencers Mince pies
Right neighbour - promised to look after her cat when she is on holiday

the EUPA boatyard has no front or rear neighbours

hi eupa

seasons greatings to you and all of rib-net.

great looking boat.
can you tell me more about it. interest in cabin ribs is ever increasing.
what weight is the boat? with fuel? how does it tow with so much windage.
and anything else that we would want to know - of course

Hi Paul, Same to you

Cabin is bolted down and in one piece. access is via the back and there is a
drop down piece of teflon -transparent at top - which uses velco to attach to the sides. Cabin measures 1.90 accross and has two rally type seats with
seat belts. We found that all suspension type seats broke after about a month. Cabin permits standing- when really rough. There is heater, screen heater.independent wipers. There are two slip windows either side. I have been through 8 meter waves and remain dry.In emergencys, you can flip back the roof and get out quickly.

Boat dry, weighs in at 2200 kgs. There are 2 x64 galon tanks under the cabin. There is both starboard and port filling for both tanks. Consumption at modest speeds and weather is about 40 liters/hour/engine. There is a floscan fuel meter switchable to either engine

I use to tow boat+trailer ( 2800 kgs) with my A6 at about 140 kph -completely illegal both as regards speed and MMA ( maximum permissable weight of train) as the A6 came in at 3900 kgs(mma) giving a towing capacity of 1900 kgs . I have just sold the A6 and have a KIA sorento which goes to an MMA of 5200 kgs and that recently pulled the boat at 150 kph. Wind does not seem to affect the speed.. I have been stopped twice by Belgium Police only to be told that my rear number plate had fallen off.

other details
GPS Garmin 2010 c 10" screen/ blue chart system
JRC 1500 watt radar.
GPS back up via portable PC using independent GPS cf card and antenna/ HP laptop also programmed for fuel/ engine/ management.

engines are 2 *200 hp yams Saltwater series 2t.

The boat can take a payload of 2000 kgs and move at about 50 knts max.

Trust this helps.

jonathan
