Engine bolts
Looking for some 6" long engine bolts for etec 250ho
The original bolts are all bent enough to worry me. They are marked f593c and approx m14 size but not metric thread. I've been told to expect to pay £100!!!!

Stick a couple extra in!...The four they recommend and the engine comes with is defiantly NOT enough!...seen four or five bigger E-tec's with the same problem...which can and will cause other more serious ones if left.

Aye there a silly metric fine thread on my Hondas but I put some normal metric equivalents on mine
Bap for bolts is a good start

The etec being American will use imperial threads I'd guess 9/16th unf if there 14mm ish

No reason to use fancy threads as long as they fit the holes in the transom bracket. Buy metric equivalents of the correct grade & finish

They are probably just metric fine in the honda which is reasonably common .
I'd imagine they use fine to get more nip on the bracket with less torque
I can't see why they'd especially need a fine thread but personally I'd stick with the same thread pitch if I could
Wouldn't be paying £100 for a genuine set of bolts though. Decent fastener supplier should be able to get metric fine prety easy

So I presume they are stainless, and high tensile? Is there a grade I am looking for? I'd be happy to source some from local Bolt shops in Southampton

I don't think that they are actually stainless, it's more of a passivated/sheradised finish.

F593c is us grading for stainless but different hardness available within that grade
