Don't go anywhere near it alone-you need someone in the bow spotting rocks. For that reason as well, if you're very curious and want to get closer, don't go anywhere near it unless it's flat calm!
Yep Fowey for me too

That that takes me back about 15 years, training weekends at Bovisand and my first experience of narcosis on Hands Deep

That was a cracking day. If you really want to get as close as we were in those pics, you need a day with 0 swell!

We always done it from Mount Batten, pick up divers from Fort Bovisand (we usually use the posh caravans nearby)
As others have said do it on a calm day, we nipped out at 35 knots, as did others so it was quite busy.

I'd love to do this but don't have a motor at the moment plus I think it's a bit far for a SIB

If anyone is going, please give me a shout. I'm in Plymouth too

Have a word with Miller on here, he frequents the Eddystone a fair bit.

teyguy - you'd be welcome to come along. Don't have a date in mind yet, but will be doing it. Plus want to organise a Lundy trip and some other SW cruises. Cheers Mark

....there's some great photo's being posted and it has to be done....

Uh...what happened to the old lighthouse? (Video answered that question.)

Is that one of the lighthouses that gets washed over by waves?

Are there shipwrecks to dive on? Or is it like California shipwrecks where the 10 meter waves shred everything?

It is a nice spot for diving as the lighthouse sits on a big pile of rocks dropping to 40m, crawing with crabs and awash with fish.
