Do you have a link to the ebay listing?

Has this guy got anything for sale, buy it all and do the same?

This sort of thing does your head in. I reckon the guy hails from Portugal and is working based in Cambs as a field engineer. They look to be a very high tec company of repute. The guy looks 55-60 and in truth it's not the normal profile for a scammer.

As he used the company as a mailing address how about emailing the MD and saying you sent them this item FAO this employee and it is now in dispute. You could say you were unaware if it was for company use or not and ask if the MD might like to assist you in resolving the matter.

Long shot but you never know...

If you have any debit or credit cards associated with your PP account, they will just take the money from them. Deleting the cards wont help, thanks to the PP T&C's they can still take it

I doubt it will go away, you need to send some evidence to ebay.

I've just started selling on ebay and am not looking forward to dealing with this side of it, must be very frustrating !

I was discussing with a friend today what feedback to leave for the seller of the boat I just purchased. There's a few bits not quite as described and I've had a few minor issues but feel that it was just bad luck and the guy still deserves positive feedback.

Your case reminds me of a motherboard I bought off ebay a few years ago. Paid an it chap to put all the bits together but the board was a dud ! The guy claimed it was fine and had been blown during fitting. Ebay told me that unless I was willing to pay to send back to the manufacturer for testing then there was nothing they could do. Maybe you could insist on something similar ?

Alan, I'm working @ Cambridge Friday & Saturday mornings & again next week, ask him / tell him I'll collect the ECU from his works so I can return it to you, then maybe you can sort out a refund.

Paul, your a gentleman.

I'm waiting on his response, if he gets the ECU back from his "Yamaha dealer" il give you a shout if that's ok?

After calling his bluff he may back off.
