Drysuit recommendations

I've seen lots of threads on here regarding drysuits - but none that are terribly recent

Are there any special offers currently running that people are aware of - I've been looking at Typhoon and Solas as possible purchases - any thoughts on these as brands

The Typhoon WOSS is now approved by SOLAS. It is the only drysuit to have the wheelmark.
If you do not require SOLAS then just go for the standard beathable WOSS
see
http://www.typhoon-int.co.uk/product...eathable_woss/

note new front entry system the diagonal zip now does not go down past the waist only around towards the back. very good when sitting down on a jockey seat

RNLI use typhoon and I got Nautibuoys Typhoon WOSS which I think is excellent.
Have a word with Bam Bam on here as he recently bought one and seems pleased with it.

Have a search on eBay for Multifabs, shark or survival suit and you may find some old offshore ones, the Multifabs suits are the most comfy suit I've worn.

Crewsaver hyperdry seem popular too.

RIBase
I use a Polar Bear suit and love it, Dave there can also supply most other makes of lightweight suit (Gul, Crewsaver etc) if you come accross one that you really fancy.

I know Lumo do some great priced suits as well.

Anyone any idea on the Typhoon Prices. Looking for a similar one to RNLI...Front Entry, Boots (not socks) etc and breathable.

Got an used typoon one if anyones intersted, to small for me and im large build + 5ft 9" if any1s interested ? It was the best (lesiure) typhoon avaliable about 4 years ago but never really fitted unfortunatley. Ill post it in the for sale section also.

I'm happy enough with my crewsaver one. Wasn't expensive but I've been in some bloody cold water in it and it does what it says on the label.

The RNLI WOSS is Typhoon and is made from a Nylon fabric which is not breathable
You should get the standard WOSS which has a fully breathable yellow top.

The RNLI WOSS also falls to bits on the inside of the knees, the knee pads aren't very good.

I bought a Typhoon max b drysuit at the boat show last year and love it. It was one of the only ones I could get on and off on my own.

You need it in the winter months

Light, breathable, hard-wearing, made to measure, not top dollar

And their service is excellent, for adjustments or repairs, fast turnaround etc I use a rapide with hard boots which is light but strong

Thanks all - some really useful suggestions - will get ringing and decide on which to go for - the WOSS look great but then made to measure might be a better option being a girlie

We have a few lasses on our crew of various shape and size and they all seem fine with the Typhoon suit.

Thanks for all the suggestions

Have now placed an order for one Rapide with hard boots and one Uno with hard boots - both front zip

Ann at Ravenspring is lovely - really helpful and nothing's too much trouble - should be with us in about two weeks

The Typhoon looked great but just out of our price range and of course Ravenspring are made to measure - what more can you ask

Will let you know how we get on with them once tested

Thanks again

Apparently the RNLI have just stopped using Typhoon and have a new supplier, not sure who yet?
