drysuit advise needed

I am about to purchase a drysuit for bad weather boating and I wonder what drysuits you guys have !
I am not that rich to buy cheap ( and twice ) but does it have to a Musto HPX for intance ??
Or the MPX ? Other alternatives ?
What is a good drysuit for occasional use but without losing quality or suffering at sea due to "cheap stuff" ?
This should be for me an investment for many years which I do not want to regret once I am out in the rough .
Any advice appreciated !

Thanks - Jürgen

Gutten Tag Jürgen, I have a crewsaver dry suit I paid £270 for it 4 years ago and it has served me well, expect to pay around the £300 mark for a good dry suit.

I'm sure the BS Gang will be along shortly

Gill Front Zip Breathable Pro Drysuit | sailboats.co.uk

Bought one of these Gill drysuits in 2010 so now just coming to the end of its third season and still giving good service. Use it for RIB and for dinghy sailing and have been very happy with it. Only issue with it is that there is no hood so you need a separate hat when it gets a bit chilly at start and end of season.

Actually on the subject, do most people use 1 piece drysuits for ribbing or sailing waterproofs (or is that one of those eternal debate questions)?

Got both find drysuit best for launching off beach etc but 2 piece is ok if your not going to get your feet wet.

For lightweight one of the Typhoon Alphas or Racers last ok. Not a patch on my Polar Bear though. Had one with no valves and heavy duty boots - great suit.

Beaver will also sell a good suit with no valves.
