But isn't that the whole point of running out of fuel, that you don't realise it's going to happen?

I suspect if this person knew his fuel was low he'd have stopped at the fuel berth, or are people over your way really that thick?

How about all the "people over your way" who drove home from the pub pissed out their minds last night?

These lads were foolish, but they weren't gonna a wipe out a young family on their way home.
