Funny, that, I was just thinking the same!

I found the tests done in MBM back in July 2001...

Best was the Pains-Wessex Ocean Sentry (as used by RNLI I think) but at a price - 850 - but 100% effective
Second the Cyclops 3 - 379
Third the Firdel Blipper at 129
Then sort of equal fourth the Cyclops 2 at 299 and the 18" Octahedral at 13.35
The tube-prism type were pretty useless in their tests, and they didn't test the tin can. Pity, 'cos a tin can would have been a good "control" test...

Child's play, all these octahedral type useless devices. The Raymarine plotter is hardware and software ready, so the next purchase will be the radome.
