Whales, sea lions, and dolphins, AWESOME! All the day needed was an underwater adventure to make it even better...says a scuba diver

The coasts here are truly magnificent. We spent the weekend diving in Mendocino County, and although no whales nor dolphins were spotted, We did get to see plenty of harbor seals and sea lions. We also took a tour up Big River and the Albion River, where we saw tons of birds, like egrets, blue heron, and four peregrine falcons.

The Gaviota State Park hoist is still functioning as far as I know. They raised the price for the launch permit though to a ridiculous amount. They are also pretty stringent on lifting setup, with everything having to be certified (Not a bad thing though).

Gaviota is closed. They lost the 50' of pier ocean side of the hoist last winter, thought they were going to lose the hoist. Anyway they have a 20' boat limit.

another day, more whales, and a drone!
