Na, the Leewipe is the worst of everything, as he added some special curves and hooks to the Phantom hull, totaly destroying the breed, then commited a crime worse than murder, by sawing the topsides off and fitting arm-bands.

Anyway, I don't wanna talk about that idiot.

maybe we should all buy Leeway ribs , reading between the lines it has the best of both worlds ,

Al last som pics of The leviathan , very fast , very fast , classy , flash. All the things that turn you boys on .
Its even got yellow windows so the world always looks bright .Or is it so you can't get recognised if you upset someone .
And its so safe you don't even need a lifejacket .
Just how you could actually use it as a practical boat beats me , looks like that strern could be flooded by the wash from yer average gin palace if you stopped anywhere no wonder it don't go far.
what do you do after you have taken a few fast runs up and down to impress everyone .

i think the leeway is the best of both as well

and now with the 8.3m which is supposedly a phantom 25 you can get the best of both but bigger

Depends if I can be bovvered.

But, I have a 250 mile range, a two berth cabin, central heating, mains inverter power for the kettle (most important bit of kit on board)

As long as it aint raining (hate that) I can be in Weymouth from Southampton in an hour, with ease (unless it's blowing a gale, then, I'd be at home like you lot of dreamers, except unlike the 'Bowie brigade' I admit it)

Then of course, with the sun sinking on the horizon, I can polish it if I wish. (that was for tubby Jono)

So C'mon, you started the 'whats the point of it' thing, what can you do with your 4 metre dinghy once you've got soaked to the skin crossing southampton water at 20knts trying desparately to stay in the thing in an a F2??...oh yeah, you can get just as soaked and desparate coming back again....most versatile craft you have there.

Who asked you TinTin?

Anyway, I've been thinking, and I reckon that in the last two years, you've done WAY more boating in hard boats than soft, and definitely at much higher speeds, and definitely far more safely. (between Nicks XS and my Phantom) ...and, you didn't get wet!!

So, the question is, why? have you crossed the line?? moved on, and up???

Well guess you cant argue about the safety bit after all 2 Phantom 28ft did do the round Britain 84 at speed, and the gale force winds around the lands end bit were hideous so they say...now I wonder how the new extended 31 would do???

Come to think about it that 31 would make a big boat with water wings attached

But what a Crime it would be!

RIBs should derive from ultra warped bottom lower speed hulls. then they'd be more like the average rib owner wants to think they are.

Scorpion do a good job of it, as do Sorcerer (at least in the design) don't try and dirty the good performance hull name that Phantom have by suggesting such vulgar projects.

The later P23 hull was designed more for that stuff, and in it's altered Phantom Evo guise, does it just fine, though still airing on the side of performance rather than slogging through 3 metre waves at 5 knts.

Yeah, and third overall, against all the huge Class one stuff. There was a rib in that race too, but it came bang last..... I just don't get it, what with the horrendous weather they had for the rib to excel in.
BTW, the only boat in the whole round britain fleet, that spat both (or any) of the occupants out during the race.......you guessed it.
I think they got good at swimming back to it lucky it had that low freeboard so they could climb back in, but then of course if it had some freeboard, they wouldn't have fallen out in the first place.
