Distance Cruising

What is the typical distances folks on here travel? I am thinking about making a 150 mile trip from homer, AK to Kodiak, AK. The span between land masses is 60 miles open water the a set of islands, then about the same before reaching kodiak island. The particular stretch is prone to heavy blows and big seas, but I don't think it's beyond the realm of sanity. Any thoughts?

It shouldn,t be a problem as long as you choose your weather. I travel 200-300 miles a day on average.

This trip sounds reasonable, but will be weather dependent. Sixty miles is only going to take you two or three hours so you should be able to plan reasonably accurately.

You should consider what your plan will be if you have problem 30 miles off shore though. Going in company with another boat would be good if possible.

Oh, and take lots of photos for us!
