Devon 27th to 1st advice

So new boy off to Devon this weekend with my Zodiac YL380dl with a 30hp 2t Tohatsu.
Loading will be 2 adults and a 4 yr old and knowing the wife 15kg of beach towels and buckets and spades.

I'm just after local advice on launching points with trailer parking and any warnings like the one I wished I had had 3 weeks ago regarding don't leave Fowey if there's a SW blowing, that's a story to tell the grandkids one day!

north or south coast? Salcombe is fun, but might be busy, great ramp and place to leave trailer.

Should have said sorry!

We're just off the west bank of the Dart. Near Dartmouth itself.

Dartmouth regatta that week, lots to see, fireworks are great by boat. The trickey part is getting into the quay during the day.

Have a look at the on line itinerary - plenty to see and do.

we're down that week, based at Kingswear, I'll drop you a pm with my details. Be good to catch up.

Only slip in Dartmouth is by thr Higher Ferry, but no trailer / car parking.
Best to launch & keep the boat on one of the dinghy pontoons. will be busy..we'll be boating out of Brixham!

You used to be able to store a trailer in the field just behind the launching ramp - for a price!

Can 't any more unless you are an annual holder, the council have fenced in the area and allocated fixed slots.
It is apparently "being reviewed".
